CommitteesStanding Committees The Colorado Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (COANA) has several committees that support the work of the association. Committees are staffed by CRNA/SRNA/RN volunteers that want to give back to their profession! Are you interested in serving? Bylaws and Government Relations Committee The Bylaws & Government Relations Committee is charged with receiving proposed amendments and present them to the Board and to members for consideration. The Committee also works in a consultative capacity with the COANA Board of Directors and the National Government Relations Committee of the AANA. Estimated time commitment: 2 hours/year. Kellie Logue, CRNA, Chair Continuing Education Committee The Continuing Education Committee prepares (subject to Board approval), a complete program for the annual meeting and for other regular meetings. The Committee is also responsible for social activities and assisting with the development of education standards. Estimated time commitment: 1 hour/month. Jennifer Krogh, CRNA, Chair Finance Committee The Finance Committee is composed of the Treasurer and two active members that are responsible for developing the association’s annual budget and investigating expenses. Estimated time commitment: 1 hour/month. Craig S. Atkins, DNP, CRNA, Chair Nominating Committee The Nominating Committee is charged with preparing and presenting a ballot of candidates to serve on the Board of Directors. Committee members help identify candidates and encourage participation from members. Estimated time commitment: 3 hours/year. Publicity Committee The Publicity Committee is responsible for all public relations activities on behalf of the association; including sending notices of meetings to members, local newspapers, and to the AANA. Estimated time commitment: ½ hour/month. Larson Greenfield, CRNA, Chair Political Action Committee (PAC) The PAC Committee performs the functions of the PAC for contributions to candidates in the Colorado General Assembly. The Committee also oversees COANA’s PAC funds and identifies ways to increase donations. John Yody Aucoin, CRNA, Chair Appointed Positions The COANA President appoints all Committee Chairs, with approval from the Board of Directors. Appointed positions includes: Federal Political Director: State Reimbursement Specialist: Interested in Serving? The COANA President appoints Committee Chairs (with the exception of the Nominating Committee), with approval from the Board of Directors.
